Prudence gets a Pizza the Action

Pizza lovers were in for a special treat as some dough-lightful Roman sculptures went on show in a Cardiff restaurant.

A pizza-mad food artist has created life-like Roman artefacts out of one third of a tonne of Pizza Express dough and yesterday they went on show at the High Street restaurant.

In creating famous Roman sites like the Colosseum, the Pope and the Spanish Steps, artist Prudence Emma Staite used enough dough to cook 500 pizzas and diners will be able to watch her at work.

The sculptures will be on show at the Cardiff eatery until Tuesday, December 18, and coincide with the launch of the new Roman menu.

The artist said: “Everyone thinks I’ve gone utterly bonkers. What better way to combine the two things I love most: art and food.”
